INTRODUCTION TO SAILING

Initiation to sailing

Introduction so sailing

This introductory course is designed for individuals who wish to discover the basics of sailing in a safe and accessible environment. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of sailing, including nautical vocabulary, the role of the wind, pre-departure preparations, safety rules, and basic maneuvers. This course is also an excellent opportunity to confirm your interest in sailing before committing to more intensive training.

Introduction to light sailing

Initiation to light sailing

This introductory program allows beginners to learn the basics of dinghy sailing and start sailing independently, according to each participant’s abilities and learning pace. Over several sessions, participants will learn how to prepare and rig a boat, maneuver safely, understand points of sail, tack and jibe, and develop their independence on the water. The course emphasizes the enjoyment of sailing while promoting technical progress.

This 12-hour course is an excellent way to get started in the world of recreational boating. It is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of sailing or become familiar with their boat (the course can be given on your own boat). No previous experience is required: the program introduces the fundamentals and provides a first experience on the water.

CANSAIL 1 & 2

The CanSail 1 & 2 program is designed for adults who want to learn dinghy sailing in a structured and progressive manner, according to the criteria of the Quebec Sailing Federation. Participants will acquire basic sailing skills, such as boat control, understanding the wind, fundamental maneuvers, and safety rules. This course is the first step in the CanSail progression, allowing participants to develop experience, confidence, and enjoyment on the water before moving on to more advanced levels.

ELEMENTARY CRUISING

The Elementary Cruising Certificate is designed for people who want to acquire solid sailing skills and develop their independence on the water. This course combines theory and practice to enable participants to familiarize themselves with essential maneuvers, boat control, and navigation principles. Upon completion of this certificate, students will be able to sail safely, as skipper or competent crew member, on a 6- to 10-meter sailboat equipped with an inboard or outboard motor, in familiar waters, during daylight hours, in moderate wind and sea conditions.

SAILING CAMP

Sailing camps provide an opportunity to discover the sport of sailing in a safe, supervised, and stimulating environment. They emphasize the enjoyment of being on the water, water safety, and the development of sailing skills, based on the Canadian Sailing Federation’s CanSail program. Our programs enable young people to acquire essential knowledge such as the principles of sailing, including wind and weather theory, rigging, knots, boat handling, and navigation on boats adapted to their age.

ATHLETE SAILING PROGRAM

• 9 à 17 years old

The goal of this program is to train the next generation of young sailors, focusing on developing the technical, physical, and mental skills needed to excel on the water, while fostering a spirit of camaraderie and sharing among our young participants. Much more than just an advanced sailing program, we want to offer an enriching experience where your young people can grow, both personally and athletically.
